What is The Cash-Back Program?
The cash-Back concept has been around since 1996. The companies that participate in the concept manage investment fund generated through its dealer base, dedicated to paying future claims for the Cash-Back Voucher marketing system. These funds are placed into well established lending institutions located within the boundaries of the United States.
How does The Cash-Back program work?
Getting your Cash-Back is a claim based marketing opportunity for retailers large and small to offer their customers up to 100% of their money back for their purchase over a specified period of time. This simple concept has been used around the world on products of all price ranges for the last 15 years. The program requires consumers to follow a few simple steps by sending the company certain documents within a specified period of time. You have probably seen similar programs on cell phones, computers, cameras, appliances and all other types of merchandise. You may have even participated in one yourself.
The program that you most likely participated in was called a "rebate". Rebates are normally described as a reward program for doing a simple task.When you purchase a product or service from the merchant, they will issue you a voucher in an amount of less than or equal to the purchase price of the product or service. The merchant will then purchase the voucher from the company for a percentage of the amount of the voucher. These funds are then placed into a trust account with interest and used to pay future claims.
Why does this Cash-Back program work?
This Cash-Back program works on the premise that only a certain percentage of voucher holders will claim the funds. There are many reasons that people don't claim the funds, but the number one reason is just plain forgetfulness. If you are the type of person that can stay organized and follow simple instructions, then you are also, most likely, the type of person that will claim the funds.
We are all very busy people these days, and unless prompted at least once we simply forget to do important things. Everyone has forgot a birthday at some point, a doctor appointment or, God forgive, a wedding anniversary! People also forget financial matters. The concept is called "slippage". Billions of dollars each year are wasted or lost due to forgetfulness, a lack of importance to someone, lost paperwork, a general lack of caring, and many other reasons too numerous to mention. You've probably seen a list of people that are owed money funneled into State coffers published in your local newspaper each year. The Internet Webmasters have built an entire industry based upon reconnecting you with your money!
The rebate and Cash-Back companies have asked their friends in the insurance actuary business to do a little homework. Based on their statistics, they know that only a small portion of the rebate offers are ever claimed. So what seemed to be a $75.00 rebate may in reality be only a $3 to $4.00 cost to the rebate or Cash-Back company. The rebate or Cash-Back company probably charged the retailer about $10.00, thus turning a profit for themselves. This raises the question "Then why didn't the retailer just sell you the phone for $90.00, as that is all he is receiving after he purchases the rebate for $10.00". Once again the answer is simple. He is in reality receiving $110.00. It is a proven fact that retailers utilizing rebate or Cash-Back offers increase their revenues by a very significant amount and allowing them to reduce their marketing budgets! The additional revenues and less spending actually add up to about $20.00. The only losers regarding rebate or Cash-Back offers are the giant advertising conglomerates that have been taking the retailers to the cleaners for years! This concept is a true win/win/win situation for the retailer, the rebate or Cash-Back company, and the consumer that is conscientious enough to remember to send in their paperwork.
The Cash-Back program works in a very similar way to rebates. We use the term "Cash-Back" because it is normally described as a reward program for doing multiple tasks, and is typically for larger sums of money. Once again, the insurance industry has worked their magic numbers to tell the Cash-Back companies exactly how many people will follow through and validly claim their money when asked to do multiple tasks. When you purchase a product from a retailer offering Cash-Back, that retailer has paid for the Cash-Back voucher, just as the phone retailer paid for the rebate. The cost is normally between 10% and 20%. When the retailer made the decision to set himself apart from his competition by offering a Cash-Back program, he was aware that his increased customer traffic and lower marketing costs would more than pay for the voucher. Once again creating a win/win/win!
What are the steps required to receive my Cash-Back?
The company is very straightforward in explaining the steps required to claim.
Every Cash-Back Voucher explains the steps required in plain English. The following is a summary of those steps:
1) You must send the "Voucher Stub" That you receive when you purchase the product to the company via certified mail within 14 days from receiving it. When you do this mailing you will be given a receipt from the post office. SAVE IT! You will need it later.
2) You must register the voucher via the internet within 60 days of the date on the voucher. You will receive an E-mail confirmation within 48 hours provided you registered within that 60 day time frame. Print out that E-mail and SAVE IT! You will need it later.
3) This Cash-Back offer has 1 program available which is 42 months.
Within 30 days after the end of the program periods described above, you must send:
A. The certified mailing receipt from step 1
B. The E-mail confirmation from step 2
C. The original purchase agreement given, e-mailed, or sent to you by the retailer when you bought the product.
D. Third party proof of payment such as cancelled check, credit card statement, or finance contract. We want to know that the product has been paid for.
E. A current utility bill. This does not mean that if you move you don't get the cash! We want to know that we are mailing YOU the check at YOUR home and not the retailers.
F. A signed copy of your valid ID. Drivers license, passport or birth certificate. Once again we want to make sure that its' you.
G. The original Cash-Back Voucher.
As you can see, it would be easy to describe this program as a "financial memory test". It will require a bit of organization and patience on your part, but for those up to the challenge, the rewards are huge.
