HTN is a dream that came true. It all started nineteen years ago in 1982 when Arthur L. Franklin (Art is the Founder and Chairman of the Board Emeritus of Health Thru Nutrition. Com) was in Panama on a business trip unrelated to the medical field. While there he was introduced to a natural cancer treatment that had been successfully administered for six years in a medical clinic there. (Art became interested in the treatment because his entire extended family-mother, father, grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts and uncles-all died from cancer related diseases. Plus Art's wife Dot had been operated on for colon cancer in 1967, with a reoccurrence that was diagnosed as terminal cancer in 1984.) The Panamanian Government had closed the cancer clinic three days before Art arrived-this coincidence and the information supplied by the Panamanian M.D. who was the administrator that ran the clinic, was the start of what eventually became HTN, Health Thru Nutrition.

Early in 1993, Art decided that his "One At A Time" mission of natural preventive products to help people improve their health could be expanded. He chose multilevel marketing (MLM) as a way to get his Natural Health Program out to the public; his "Making A Difference One At A Time" mission would now have the opportunity to be multiplied many times over. HTN was formed with the mission to help people Alkalize, Cleanse, Nourish and Balance their Bodies, helping to prevent illness and to improve the health of those who were sick. Art believes that God has made available natural ingredients from the earth to prevent and heal all illness. So with the help of many scientists, doctors and other health professionals, he made it his goal to find those special ingredients and successfully combine them into synergistic formulas in an effort to act on that belief. This conviction that the body could repair itself when Alkalized, Cleansed, Nourished and Balanced using natural ingredients was definitely a paradigm shift from what all of us have been taught to believe over the last 70 years. (Modern medicine as we know it today is only 70 years old.)

Things moved very quickly from that point on. In October of 1993 Art met with a nutritionist in Florida who helped him formulate HTN's first three products, the Metabolizer 2000 series. They made sure these three products had enough of the key ingredients to actually affect and improve people's health, especially by using the high grade GTF Chromium, trade named ChromeMate®. During a time when companies were formulating products with another, more publicized form of Chromium, Art chose the safety and therapeutic effectiveness of ChromeMate® instead of being influenced by lower cost and/or popularity. Unlike many companies with strict cost/profit limitations, HTN puts enough of this unique GTF Chromium into five of its products (at 1000 mcg per capsule) to provide the necessary daily amounts to effectively help to nourish and balance the body.
