There are a lot of different software programs that claim that they can make you a lot of money in picking stocks. Do they work? Some do. The key to any investing program is to know yourself. You need to be discipline when your playing the market.

Here is an example of a software program:

The XYZ system is a software product that generates strategic buy and sell signals on stocks that you select. It lets you know exactly when to trade, and exactly how many shares to trade, to maximize returns on individual stocks.

Tracking your stocks in the XYZ System, will alert you to every profit taking opportunity, and signal when the time is right to lower your cost per share. The basic idea behind the XYZ methodology is that market risk is mitigated by using a cash reserve to manage the holdings on a long term basis. The real benefit here is that the risk exposure is actually lower.

It is fairly difficult to compare a "system" like XYZ to buy and hold because the XYZ System had the additional buying power of the cash reserve on it's side.

The moral of the story is any software program will usually work if you know how to use it. That doesn't really mean you will make a lot of money. The key is knowing how to use the software with your particular trading style and sticking to it.
